Der-Huy Chinese School Covid-19 Safety Plan

The following guideline is to ensure the safety of teacher and students by practising the safety precaution steps in order to prevent virus infection during the community school session.

1.  Vaccinations for visitors and volunteers

  1. There are no vaccination requirements for non-Department of Education staff, visitors and volunteers starting for term 3 2022. They are however required to wear masks whilst working/volunteering with students at greater risk of serious illness should they contract COVID-19.

2.  Well Being of Students and Teachers

A teacher will have the following responsibilities before allowing students enter classrooms,

  1. To advise the sick person to stay at home and self-isolate if necessary.
  2. To inform parents of their children health condition before allowing their children to attend school. 
  3. To ensure student and teacher's hands are sanitised when entering the classroom

3.  Safety Practise in the Classroom

  1. Sanitiser shall be made available for each classroom
  2. Teacher shall take attendance of the students and provide traceability record should a tracing of Covid-19 infection case occur. All attendance record shall be kept for a minimum of 28 days
  3. Teacher shall ensure students maintain 1.5 metres physical distancing at all time

4.  Safety Practise After Class

  1. The classroom tables and all equipment used shall be cleaned and disinfected after class

5.  Safety Practise in Toilet

  1. Ensure toilets are well stocked with hand soap and paper towels, and have posters with instruction on how to wash hand
  2. Toilet shall be cleaned and disinfected after class

6. Outdoor activities

  1. All outdoor activities shall be terminated until further notice.

7. Compliance to Government Covid-19 Safety Guidelines

  1. Der-Huy Chinese School shall comply to Covid-19 Safety guideline introduced by NSW Department of Health and Education.
  2. Cooperate with NSW Health if contacted in relation to a positive case of COVID-19 at your workplace and notify SafeWork NSW on 13 10 50.
